200,000 Subaru Legacy and Outbacks recalled
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Subaru is recalling 200,000 Legacy and Outback sedans and wagons to check for corroded brake lines.
The recall applies to models from 2005 to 2009.
The vehicles were sold in 20 “Salt Belt” states, including New York.
Brake lines may be perforated after exposure to salt over a number of winter seasons.
Owners can take their cars to Subaru dealers for a free inspection. They will rustproof the affected area and, if necessary, replace the brake lines.
