Syracuse (WSYR-TV/CNN) – 3.4 million vehicles are being recalled worldwide for defective airbags.
Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Mazda models are all affected by the recall.
The airbags were provided by Japanese-based supplier Takata Corporation and could inflate improperly.
A Toyota spokeswoman told CNN that five incidents related to the airbags have been reported, but no one was injured.
Honda says it was aware of one incident involving a faulty airbag, but no injuries or deaths.
