Pompey (WSYR-TV) -- Onondaga County has stepped in after a dangerous intersection in the town of Pompey proved to be problematic once again this weekend.

In recent years, there have been four deadly accidents at the intersection of Pratts Falls and Sweet roads.

On Sunday, seven people were taken to the hospital after an SUV ran a stop sign and slammed into a pickup truck.

Now, county workers have installed extra stop signs and painted stop bars along the road.

Within the next day or two, an engineering study at that intersection will begin and traffic counting devices will be installed.

Once the data is reviewed, further measures might be taken to make the intersection even safer.
