Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – National Grid’s refrigerator recycling program has offered a $30 rebate for secondary refrigerators.

But the program was set to expire at the end of the year and the utility says it will not continue to offer incentives for people who want to recycle their old refrigerators.

The program will remain closed until the company receives regulatory approval to reopen it from the Public Service Commission.

The company hopes to receive the approval some time next year.
