Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- John has a refrigerator he would like to get rid of using National Grid’s recycling program. He wants to know what criteria he must meet in order to qualify for the $30 mail-in rebate.

First of all, the refrigerator you recycle must be a secondary unit, not a primary refrigerator.

It must have been in use for at least six months, otherwise you won’t see how much you’re saving in energy costs over a period of time.

You’ll want to take advantage of the program now. You have only a few weeks left to recycle your refrigerator. The deadline is December 31 of this year.
