DeWitt (WSYR-TV) – A new place for young people to have their hair cut will soon open in DeWitt.

Sharkey’s Cuts for Kids is slated to open on March 16 on Erie Boulevard.

The chain has locations from coast to coast, but the DeWitt spot is the first one in Upstate New York.

The salon is located in the former Black and Decker storefront and in the same building at Subway in front of K-Mart, not far from Kinne Road.

According to the chain’s website, Sharkey’s provides babies’ first haircuts, boys’ buzz cuts, and braids

Children are able to watch a DVD or play Xbox or PlayStation while seated in a Barbie Jeep or Buzz Lightyear car.

They also have a “Tween Lounge” featuring music, television, and movies.
