Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Central New Yorkers may be sick of construction season and are looking forward to it winding down this fall.
However, some projects are still being completed, while others are just getting started.
Here are a few that people have contacted NewsChannel 9 about:
The ramp from 481 southbound to 81 south is scheduled to close on Friday. The Department of Transportation says paving work is very weather-dependent, so rain, even a little bit, will present a problem.
In addition, work along 690 is continuing. Two more closures are scheduled in the coming weeks. The first is on Oct. 12 through Monday, Oct. 15. 690 Eastbound over Crouse Avenue will be shut down for bridge deck replacements.
Then, from Oct. 19 through Monday, Oct. 22, 690 Westbound over Crouse Avenue will be closed.
In East Syracuse, construction on Bridge Street has wreaked havoc for some commuters. If the weather holds, the DOT anticipates that the work will be completed next month.
Crews are currently completing paving on Bridge Street and once that is done, they will finish implementing traffic signals.
However, cosmetic work, like planting flowers and laying topsoil, will continue through November.
