Geddes (WSYR-TV) -- NewsChannel 9 viewer Terry Reynolds wants to know if the Fair is smoke-free.

The answer: It is in some spots. Assistant Fair Director Troy Waffner says that, in accordance with State law, the Fair does not allow smoking in any building, under any overhangs, or within 25 feet of the entrance or exit of any building. With that said, if you’re out in the open air, it’s still okay to light up.

Concert goers should also know smoking is not permitted in the Grandstand. However, there is a designated smoking area adjacent to the east entrance. So, mind the rules if you’re reaching for that cigarette. And if you’re concerned that someone may be smoking in a restricted area, you can contact Fair security.
