Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – If you’ve received an extensive American Community Survey from the US Census Bureau and wondered whether or not it’s legitimate, the answer is yes.
The 28-page survey asks for personal information about residents and their family member and has been sent to randomly selected homes in different communities even during years when there is no official US Census.
The federal government uses the survey to identify areas of the country that need additional funding for community projects. Anyone who receives such a survey should set aside time to fill it out. Those who don’t fill out the survey may receive a personal visit from census personnel.
