Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - We have some avid watchers among our viewers who keep an eye on some local bird webcams and were recently disappointed to find two of them out of service.

The cameras affected were the falcon cam atop the state tower building and the blue heron cam run by the ornithology lab at Cornell.

USA Datanet tells us engineers recently ran some maintenance on the state tower's falcon cam and that the work is now complete. So the live feed should be up and running.

In Ithaca, the "All About Birds" website has been experiencing some problems. If you have any trouble with it, you can navigate directly to the livestream page for the blue heron cam.

That site has been working consistently and it's worth checking out since one of the herons laid its fifth egg last week. The eggs are expected to hatch sometime around the end of this month.
