Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Recently, Central New Yorkers have had a hard time finding the popular over-the-counter heartburn medication Prevacid.

According to the medication’s manufacturer – Novartis Consumer Health – production of Prevacid 24-hour has been suspended for process improvements at their manufacturing facility.

They say the suspension had nothing to do with the safety or efficacy of the medication.

They added, however, that production has resumed and shipments have already begun. The product began re-appearing on shelves recently.
