Oswego County (WSYR-TV) - Traffic has been detoured off Route 264 just north of Phoenix for the last month and half and there’s a gaping hole in the road where a bridge used to be.

NewsChannel 9 viewer Katrina wants to know when the work will be complete so buses can resume their regular routes.

The State Department of Transportation says the work is part of a regional large culvert replacement project.

The bridge over Bell Creek had to be removed so that new footers could be installed and a new bridge assembled. The parts are precast and the contractor is waiting for the units to be delivered.

Once the parts are in place, construction can resume and the road should be reopened within a few weeks.

In the meantime, school buses should follow the posted detour and drivers can expect delays.
