Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Your Stories Q&A has an update on redevelopment of the old Tri-County Mall, and a groundbreaking for a major retailer in Cortland.
The new owners of the former Tri-County Mall are redeveloping it into an office-retail-business center.
It will be known as the Shoppes at Baldwinsville, where a dozen parcels are being offered for lease or sale.
Paul Anderson of Anderson Barney Real Estate Management tells us they're looking for a primary care family medical practice to help anchor the new development. The rest of the site would be a mixed use of office and retail.
The owners, Crossroads TCM, will build to suit the needs of any prospective tenants. Anderson says all zoning and site engineering is done and permits can be pulled for construction immediately.
But one thing that is not coming back to the old Tri-County Mall location is the theatre. You've been asking about that, and movies are not in the cards at that location.
In Cortland, it won't be ready for this Christmas shopping season, but they broke ground for the new Walmart Supercenter store Wednesday.
It'll be at the intersection of Route 13 and Bennie Road, a few hundred yards away from where the current Walmart sits.
We'll keep you posted on construction.
