Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Question:
What happened to the Peregrine falcons nesting on the State Tower Building in Syracuse? Answer:
The DEC says the Peregrine falcons have not used the State Tower Building in Syracuse as a nesting site this year and – at this point – biologists don’t expect that they will.
This is the third year in which they have not produced young.
While biologists can’t conclusively say what the reason is for the falcons’ failure to nest, they believe it is possible that they have grown too old or there is a new mate who isn’t yet mature enough to produce offspring.
