Oswego County (WSYR-TV) – Residents in the Phoenix area are wondering what is holding up work on the Route 264 over Bell Creek north of the Oswego County village.
The Department of Transportation has said that it is waiting on a pre-cast and that the work would be complete in a few weeks.
After more than a month since the Your Stories team reported on it, the work still hasn’t been completed.
Gene Cilento at the Department of Transportation said that the existing culvert was removed in anticipation of the new one being delivered promptly. When the piece was not delivered, the work was delayed.
However, the panels were delivered last week and are now being assembled. Once that work is complete, the road section can be built above it, the approaches completed, and the road reopened.
They hope to have the work completed by the end of October. The culvert is expected to last 60 years. If you have a question for the Your Stories team, you can call (315) 446-9900 or email YourStories@9wsyr.com
