Geddes (WSYR-TV) -- One of our viewers from Baldwinsville refuses to drive on Farrell Road in Geddes because he worries his car will be damaged by the crumbling pavement. He wants to know when the Town Highway Department is going to take care of the problem.
Highway Superintendent Mark Kolakowski says plans are in the works and improvements should be coming soon. The town applied for Federal funds to fix the road way back in 2006 and it has taken until 2012 to finally secure the money. There is enough cash to reconstruct Farrell Road from John Glenn Boulevard to the railroad tracks. The town is in the process of applying for a second grant to pay for the stretch of road that extends from the railroad to State Fair Boulevard.
However, there are still some administrative hurdles to jump before any work can begin, so there is no start date for the project just yet. Kolakowski expects reconstruction will be complete before the end of the year.
