Drier, but still cool this afternoon (9-15-11)
It was a dreary morning with rain and falling temperatures. Now, the rain as pulled out, and it looks pretty dry through the rest of the afternoon. This may help temperatures rise just a bit, but I still expect things to hold pretty much in the 50s. As I’m looking over things before heading into the office, this satellite picture shows that things should be improving nicely later today sky-wise, with some sun breaking out.
High pressure will be settling over our area tonight, further helping to clear our skies. There may still be just enough of a breeze, to keep temperatures in the 40s. That high pressure area will be right over us Friday night. That’s when temperatures will be the coldest. Light winds and clear skies will do the trick. Incidentally, the record low temperature for Saturday morning is 36, set back in 1986.
Here is the weather map for 8 am Saturday morning. High pressure overhead will give us the chilly start. Light winds and abundant sunshine will help us recover into at least the low 60s.
