Near perfect Fall weekends
I’ve documented the November and overall Fall weather quite a bit recently in my blogs. Temperatures have been above normal but the perception is that it has been even warmer and nicer when you look closely at just the weekend days. These are the days when the majority of central New Yorkers have the time to be out and really take advantage of the nice weather. And boy, when you look closely at the last 6 weekends in Syracuse our weather has been near perfect.Date | High Temp | Departure | Rain |

Oct 23 | 59 | +2 | 0 |
Oct 29 | 41 | -14 | 0 |

And this stretch doesn’t include the Columbus Day weekend when the temperature reached 80 degrees 3 straight days. The coolest day in this bunch was October 29th and that just happened to be the day an early season snowstorm was raging in the Northeast. The rainfall on these weekends was spotty and even when it has rained it hasn’t been that impactful. Most times the rain fell at night. In fact, on November 27th (the ‘rainiest day’ of the lot) the rain didn’t move in until 7 pm and that was after we already had 4 beautiful, dry and sunny days that started on Thanksgiving.Although our mean temperatures for October and November were quite a bit above normal (+2F and 6.2F respectively) when you include just the weekend days it is even more pronounced. The average high temperature for the last 6 weekends is almost 8 degrees above normal. Since the start of November our weekend temperatures are averaging 12.5 F above normal! Are large portion of the upcoming weekend will likely be dry but not nearly as warm this time.
