Streak of nice weekends continues....(5-18-12)
How many times do we see it? The weather is nice for much of the week then things go downhill for the weekend with clouds rain and cooler temperatures. The opposite has been true for the last month over central New York. This weekend is actually going to be the 4th straight with dry weather and this weekend along with the last two have featured above normal temperatures.
| Saturday High | Sunday High |
| April 28 & 29 | 50 F/-13 F | 53 F/-10 F |
| May 5 & 6 | 67 F/+2 F | 71 F/+5 F |
| May 12 & 13 | 80 F/+12 F | 74 F/+6 F |
| May 19 & 20 (Forecasted) | 82 F/+12 F | 86 F/+16 F |

The signs are still strong from both the GFS and European for very warm air building back into the Northeast and central New York later next week. There are some timing issues as the GFS is quicker and has us very warm by Thursday while the European holds off until the weekend. Here is the latest look at the ensemble mean comparison for the GFS and European models centered next Sunday:
We mentioned it yesterday and we’ll say it again today. If what we see from the models holds then the possibility of 90 degree weather exists for next weekend. Stay tuned.
