(WSYR-TV, Syracuse) I'm experimenting with something here. I figure most people can access the web site, but not twitter or facebook. Besides, I don't want to "bomb" those sites with information. We'll see how it goes. I'll keep an eye on the comments section, if you have any questions. Once 4:30 rolls around, I'll begin focusing on the newscast. Thanks.
We warmed to 91° today, before the storms rolled in. We've cooled to 77 with the thunderstorm that just moved through Syracuse. The sun will get back out by 5 (or sooner, west of I-81) and the evening for the most part will be quiet.
Storms did produce some hail near Rome this afternoon and there was a media report out of Utica of some tree damage in Boonville. Parts of our viewing area that could still experience severe weather and thunderstorms, include the southern half of Oneida county, Madison and Chenango counties.
There is some rain in northern Oswego county and that is moving east. No severe weather is expected with that.
The real cooling and drying out of the air will likely hold off until after sunset. Really though, the evening doesn't look too bad. I can't rule out an isolated shower popping up, but most areas, and most of the time should end up dry.
