Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse Orange basketball team should get a chance to flex their muscle during their first few preseason games. The team will open its campaign with exhibition games against Division II foes: Cal State-Los Angeles on Sunday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. and LeMoyne on Tuesday, November 3, at 7:00 p.m.
Cal State-Los Angeles is coached by former Syracuse standout Stephen Thompson. The Golden Eagles were 12-15 a season ago and won two of their last three games. Syracuse defeated Cal State-Los Angeles in a 2008 exhibition game, 77-56.
LeMoyne was 20-11 and advanced to the Northeast-10 title game last winter. It marked a five-game improvement over the previous campaign for the Dolphins. Syracuse defeated LeMoyne, 85-51, in the 2008-09 season opener.
