Brake problems rarely appear suddenly. There usually are several signs to let you know something's wrong. Squeaks, squeals, grinds, or shudders can all be warning signs of impending brake trouble. Rear brakes generally last a lot longer than front brakes. Front brakes can last anywhere from eight thousand to fifty thousand miles, depending on your driving. A proper brake job could cost anywhere from eighty to a hundred and fifty dollars for the front or rear set. That estimate will go up substantially if more major repairs are needed. You should check your brake fluid periodically to make sure it's at the proper level. When adding fluid, make sure to use the type recommended for your car. Contact a mechanic or auto parts store in your area for more information on your car's brakes.
