1 dead after quarry accident in Manlius
Manlius (WSYR-TV) – Police say a man was killed Thursday during an accident involving a dump truck at the Kinsella Quarry in Manlius.
Police declined to discuss the details of the accident, except to note that the victim was in his 50s.
A second person in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
A preliminary investigation states a 1957 Studebaker, loaded with gravel, left the roadway and struck an embankment.
Neither the person who was killed nor the person who was injured have been identified by police.
The quarry is located on the Genesee Turnpike near Green Lakes State Park.
An investigation continues into what caused the accident.
