2 employees charged with stealing from Granby convenience store
Oswego (WSYR-TV) – Two former employees of a Granby convenience store are facing larceny charges as a result of separate investigations.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Pit Stop store personnel began looking into irregularities at the end of 2012 when they discovered the two employees’ alleged thefts.
They say 28-year-old Crystal Hines-Carvey of Germandale Drive in Fulton was adding to lottery ticket payouts and taking the excess amount. The Sheriff’s Office says she stole nearly $1,200.
Hines-Carvey was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony.
She was taken to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
A separate investigation resulted in the arrest of 43-year-old Theresa Castillo of Manley Drive in Red Creek who the Sheriff’s Office believes knowingly made deposits at a bank that didn’t match the store’s sales.
They say she stole about $150 from the store.
She was charged with petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket.
