2 women killed in Jefferson County crash

LERAY, NY (WSYR-TV) - New York State Police are investigating a crash that left two women dead on Saturday.

The crash happened about 9:30 this morning on State Route 26 in the Jefferson County town of LeRay.

Police say a 17-year-old girl was driving her car eastbound when she lost control and swerved into the westbound lane.

She hit another vehicle, according to police.  She was treated for her injuries at the hospital and released.

The driver, 43-year-old Laurie Deshane and a passenger, 20-year-old Kendra Deshane were killed in the crash.

Two other passengers, 18-year-old Krista Deshane and 30-year-old Christopher Brundage suffered non-life threatening injuries.

State Police have not said if there will be any charges.
