Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – It took several hours for Syracuse firefighters to put out a blaze on the city’s East Side after it began on Monday evening.

Two firefighters were taken to the hospital for treatment, a third suffered minor burns.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a muscle sprain, the second with dehydration. Both were treated and released.

The firefighter who was burned was not taken to the hospital.

Investigators are still trying to determine how the fire on Cambridge Street began. First Deputy Chief Charlie Duffy says the cause of the fire "appears to be electrical in nature" and they are examining an overhead light on the home's porch.

Crews needed to cut down a tree to keep the fire from spreading, but could not save the home.
