A few showers and thunderstorms this evening

(Syracuse-WSYR-TV) After quiet weather for much of this afternoon some showers have popped up over central New York.  More widespread showers and thunderstorms ahead of cold front will move into the region later this evening between 6 pm and midnight.

While we can’t totally rule severe weather, the threat has diminished partly because we failed to warm into the 80s today.

After midnight any showers and storms will weaken and move east of Syracuse.  Showers and storms will be more scattered during Saturday.
