HEUVELTON, N.Y. (AP) - An Amish man is recovering from injuries suffered when a car collided with his buggy on a North Country road, killing his horse.

Emergency officials in St. Lawrence County tell the Watertown Daily Times that Samuel Miller of DePeyster was driving his buggy on Route 184 in Heuvelton around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when he was hit from behind by a car driven by a man from Ogdensburg.

Officials say Miller was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries that didn't appear to be serious.

The car's driver was taken from the scene in an ambulance. Information on his injuries wasn't available.

In November, a 9-month-old Amish girl died after her mother's buggy was hit by a car in neighboring Lewis County.
