Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) -- State Police have arrested two Baldwinsville teens accused of stealing a truck from the Gypsum Express parking lot in the town of Lysander last month.
The owner of the 2000 Ford Pickup reported the truck missing on December 22.
Three days later, on Christmas Day, police say a Baldwinsville resident had called to report a suspicious truck parked in his neighbor’s driveway, which turned out to be the stolen truck.
The truck was unoccupied, but an investigation found that the suspects attempted to use the truck to steal a snowmobile trailer that had also been parked at the residence.
The truck was then impounded and stolen again, police said.
The truck was later spotted by an Onondaga County sheriff’s deputy at around 11 p.m. Christmas night. That’s when suspects -- 16-year-old Austin S. Hayes and 18-year-old Domonique A. Frazier -- were arrested and taken into custody.
Hayes and Frazier have been charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a felony, and criminal trespass in the third degree, a misdemeanor in connection with the stolen truck.
In addition, both have been charged with attempted grand larceny for allegedly trying to steal the snowmobile trailer.
Both were arraigned in the Village of Baldwinsville Court and taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $100,000 cash bail.
