Bicyclist hit by car in the town of Granby; police searching for driver

Granby (WSYR-TV) -- A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a car in the town of Granby on Tuesday. Police are now searching for the driver who drove off.

The accident happened on State Route 48, just north of Fulton, police said.

The car that stuck the bicyclist is described as a dark red or maroon colored Volkswagen -- possibly a Passat or a Golf. Police say the vehicle should have damage to its front bumper and right side.

There is no word on the condition of the bicyclist.
