Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A boil water notice issued by the Oswego County Health Department is still in effect for portions of the city of Oswego.
Officials say the city's water system lost pressure during construction work in the area and low pressure can increase the chance for microbes entering the water.
The boil water advisory is for anyone living in the following areas:
- Lathrop Street
- West Bridge Street between Liberty Street and West 8th Street
- West 8th Street between West Bridge Street and West Seneca Street
Residents should not drink water without boiling it first, then letting it cool for one minute. Bottled water can also be used.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation.
