Bridgeport man out on bail after 7-hour standoff with police
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A Bridgeport man is out on bail after a seven-hour standoff with police on Sunday.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reports that they received 911 calls around 3 a.m. from neighbors stating that 24-year-old Brandon Rudy was allegedly drunk, issuing threats and had fired a gun outside his home along Lakeshore View Drive South in Madison County.
After failing to make contact with Rudy, the Madison County SWAT team used tear gas to enter the home.
Rudy was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and illegal discharge of a firearm.
During the incident, neighbors had to be evacuated and surrounding streets were shut down.
Rudy was arraigned in the Town of Sullivan Court and his bail was set at $1,000
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
