Wampsville (WSYR-TV) – A driver and a passenger involved in a rollover accident on Route 5 in the village of Wampsville were able to escape with only minor injuries before the vehicle caught fire on Friday, thanks to a bystander.

Danielle Musacchio of Oneida was driving eastbound on the road when he swerved to avoid rear ending another vehicle.

Musacchio lost control of the car, exited the shoulder of the road, struck a culvert and overturned.

A bystander helped both the driver and a passenger escape from the vehicle before the fire began. They suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
