Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- If you’re flying out of Syracuse’s Hancock Airport this weekend, it’ll be a busy one as mid-winter break gets underway for most schools in our area.
It’s vacation time for the Delorenzo family. They’re expecting long lines with other families looking to get away. They told NewsChannel 9 they arrived early to make sure their travels got off to a good start.
The Delorenzo’s are headed to Orlando, Florida. It’ll be a special trip for the family that normally spends mid-winter break relaxing at home. Second grader Luke says there’s one thing he can’t wait for.
“There’s a meal plan at Universal and there’s all flavors of Coke products,” Luke said.
Other families say that’s what it’s all about, along with some other perks of being away from home, like sleeping in and not going to school or just some quiet time without the responsibilities of home.
The airport commissioner expects the crowds to continue this weekend as families leave for their vacations. If you’re flying out of Hancock, arrive early, at least 90 minutes before your flight.
