Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Central New Yorkers were greeted by fallen trees and power outages Tuesday morning after an overnight storm swept through the area.

The outages were concentrated primarily in Oswego and Oneida counties, particularly along the northern shore of Oneida Lake.

Many Central New Yorkers reported substantial hailstones.

Around 8 a.m., National Grid still indicated scattered outages throughout the area.

In Brewerton, lightning hit an apartment building on Chalkstone Course. A boy playing videogames in one apartment felt a shock. He did not lose consciousness and was taken to the hospital to be checked out. Officials say he'll be okay.
