Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The founder and CEO of Chobani Yogurt is publicly apologized after a recall for swelling and bloated containers of Greek yogurt.
In statement posted to the Chobani website
on Thursday, Hamdi Ulukaya says, "I'm sorry we let you down."
Ulukaya continues to say, "My heartfelt apologies to our friends, fans and consumers who were impacted, as your loyalty and safety is something we cherish and never take for granted.”
The apology comes after a recall of certain Greek yogurt products was necessary because too much dairy mold was added, which caused swelling in the containers, as well as altered taste.
The products recalled had the code 16-012 and the expiration dates 9/11/2013 – 10/7/ 2013.
Both Chobani and Wegmans are offering options for customers to be compensated in some way.
