Collision on I-81 causes fuel spill near Brewerton
Brewerton (WSYR-TV) – A collision between a truck and tractor trailer on I-81 northbound caused about 100 gallons of fuel to spill Wednesday morning.
The Central Square Fire Chief says a smaller truck was broken down on the shoulder about a mile north of Brewerton.
The Fire Chief says the tractor-trailer crossed over into the shoulder and hit the truck, causing the tractor to go down an embankment.
The fuel tanks of both trucks ruptured, according to the fire chief. Crews were able to contain about 100 gallons of fuel from flowing into a nearby creek.
The fire chief said no one was seriously hurt.
