Albany (WSYR-TV) – The wife of a Congressman charged with drunk driving the night before her husband announced that he would decline to run for re-election has been sentenced.

Allison Hinchey-Lee, the wife of US Representative Maurice Hinchey, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after striking another car on Albany’s Lark Street in January.

The 50-year-old woman was sentenced to 60 days in jail, along with three years’ probation. She must also use an Interlock Ignition Device for three years after her release from jail.

Her license had already been suspended for an alcohol related conviction when the January incident occurred.

In June, she pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated and one count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree.

Hinchey-Lee represents the 22nd Congressional District, which includes Binghamton and Ithaca.
