Construction worker who died after falling from SUNY Oswego structure identified

Oswego (WSYR-TV) – A construction worker who died on Friday after falling from a structure on the SUNY Oswego campus has been identified.

Lateef Haskins, 37, of Bayberry Circle was an ironworker with Solvay Iron Works.

The incident was reported at 8:25 a.m. Haskins was transported to Oswego Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The worker was employed by Solvay Iron Works. His identity is being withheld pending the family’s notification.

The worker was installing metal roof decking on a connector between two buildings on campus as part of a renovation of SUNY Oswego's School of Education.

An investigation is being conducted by OSHA and the New York State University Police at Oswego.
