Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies concluded a significant drug bust that included recovering guns, cash, and more than $200,000 worth of heroin.
Sheriff’s Investigators say Reinaldo Santos, 57, and Noemi Torres, 45, face the most serious charges after the majority of the drugs were found in a compartment hidden in their vehicle.
In all, they charged 14 people in connection to the bust.
They declined to specify what the suspects were charged with.
The Sheriff’s Office says they recovered more than 20 ounces of heroin in 18,000 individual packets, $10,000 in cash, and three illegal guns.
State Police, the Syracuse Police Department, and the DEA Task Force also participated in the investigation, which led to search warrants executed in the city of Syracuse and town of Clay.
