Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse woman is facing multiple charges after police say she stabbed her 2-year-old son and also tried to run down the child’s father.
According to police, 23-year-old Krystal Thomas of Westmoreland Avenue was arguing with the child’s father when he left to allow her to calm down.
When he returned around 10:15 p.m., the man found Thomas holding a knife in her hand. He told police she was acting strangely.
After the argument erupted again, police say Thomas tried to run down the man in front of their house. When he ran for cover, police say she hit the front porch of a home and also a parked car.
When she finally drove off, the man went back into the couple’s apartment and found that Thomas had stabbed their child in the groin area.
He was taken to Upstate University Hospital. Police said his injuries were not life threatening.
Police say Thomas was caught by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies near Palmyra.
When Syracuse Police arrested Thomas, she was charged with attempted assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
She is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
