Cortland (WSYR-TV) – The Cortland County District Attorney admitted in a statement on Friday that he performed in adult films in the 1970s.
Mark Suben admitted that for several years he lied to news organizations about his past involvement in pornographic films.
"I was an actor in adult films for a short period in the early 1970s," Suben's statement read.
Suben conceded in the statement that he had lied to members of the press when they asked him about allegations that he had performed in adult films.
"A few weeks ago, when asked, I denied this to members of the press. I regret that and I apologize for it," he said in the written statement. "I was shocked and embarrassed to be confronted with this so many years later. I was embarrassed for my family and friends who have stood by me."
He noted that he also lied to members of his family and staff regarding the allegations.
A YouTube clip surfaced on Thursday claiming to show Suben’s picture juxtaposed next to an adult film actor named Gus Thomas.
"Recently materials have been circulated that I was involved in the adult film industry in New York. Those allegations are true," Suben's statement read.
Suben said he intends to continue serving as District Attorney in Cortland County.
