Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Work is underway on a construction project that officials hope will clean up Onondaga Lake.

The facility – the Lower Harbor Brook CSO (Combined Sewer Overflow) Project will be along the lake’s western shore. The facility is a component of the county’s “Save the Rain” project.

Part of Hiawatha Boulevard from Erie Boulevard to State Fair Boulevard will be shut down until mid-April when the project should be completed.

The detour will utilize Erie Boulevard, State Fair Boulevard, and West Genesee Street.
