SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - The annual Crawfish Festival brought out the masses to Clinton Square for some New Orleans style cuisine.
Proceeds benefit "Operation Southern Comfort," a group of local volunteers who head down to New Orleans about five to six times a year to help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
Some people in Central New York will benefit too.
"Some of the money will go towards Operation Northern Comfort, where we will do the same kinds of things up here. Folks who can't afford to have their houses repaired and renovating and things like that,” said Jim McLaughlin with Operation Southern Comfort.
The festival was so popular the crawfish sold out around 4:30 p.m.
