Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Fire crews responded to the scene of an apartment fire on Syracuse’s Northside Thursday night. It’s the third fire in the city in just 12 hours.

The fire broke out at the Butternut Apartment complex on Butternut Street just after 8 p.m.

No one was hurt, but the building was damaged. Investigators say it started in a basement apartment. Investigators are now trying to determine just what sparked the fire.

Again, this was one of three fires Thursday in the city of Syracuse. The Red Cross is helping a man after a fire tore through his home on Clover Street. Another fire broke out on Burnet Avenue.
