David Muir talks to Carrie Lazarus about his new role as 20/20 co-anchor
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - David Muir makes his debut as co-anchor of ABC’s 20/20 Friday night.
He and his new partner, Elizabeth Vargas, sat down for interviews with TV stations across the country Friday afternoon.
When it was Carrie Lazarus’s turn, it became clear the chat would be different than the rest.
Muir is a Central New York native who attended Onondaga Central High School. He remembered the days when he would read the morning announcements at school.
Vargas joked that she wants all the dirt on Muir from Central New Yorkers.
Muir said that he was smiling ear to ear when he found out he would join 20/20, and recognized that it’s a program started by Barbara Walters and Hugh Downs.
He will continue to anchor ABC World News on Saturdays and Sundays.
You can watch 20/20 every Friday night at 10 p.m. on NewsChannel 9.
