Cicero (WSYR-TV) - Thieves can score big when valuables are left in cars, especially cars that aren't locked.

It happened in Cicero  two weeks ago, when a thief prowled the ice arena parking lot during a hockey tournament, found an unlocked car and a wallet with credit cards. Police say he left the wallet, and just took the cards.

Police could now use an assist, because their suspect was caught on tape and they’re putting you On The Lookout.

Cicero Police want to question the man seen in the photo about the theft of the credit card, since they say he went shopping with it at the Cicero Walmart.

“He actually stopped walking and bent over and had a conversation with the greeter,” Cicero Police Investigator Jim Meyers said.

Police say this was his last stop on a shopping trip that first took him into the city of Syracuse.  But by the time he got there, the owner had cancelled the card.

“He has the employees swiping the card on the register, the employee swipes the card on the customer pad as well,” Investigator Meyers said.

So he didn't get the iPads he was after, but he did gain a new coat.

In the footage, he can be seen walking in wearing a blue sweatshirt, but walking out with a $25 MMA hooded sweatshirt.  He drove off in a tan or brown colored four-door sedan, possibly an older model Ford Taurus.

If the recognize the man in the photo, call Investigator Meyers at 699-3677, extension 18.
