Pennellville (WSYR-TV) – A dog described as being “in very poor condition” has been surrendered by its owner in Oswego County.

In photographs sent to NewsChannel 9 by a neighbor, the dog appears to be emaciated.

According to the Oswego County SPCA, the dog warden is reviewing the case and may ticket the animal’s owner or owners at the Blue Jay Lane mobile home park on County Route 54.

The pet was taken to the Town of Schroeppel shelter while the case is reviewed.

"It sickens me that anyone would allow a dog to get to this condition,” said Oswego County SPCA President Tanya Semchenko. "If you can't care for your animals, we can help you. "

The Oswego County SPCA can be reached at (315) 592-5551.
