Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Syracuse Police say the driver who struck a building at the intersection of West Genesee Street and Van Rensselaer Street Tuesday night was under the influence of drugs.
The crash happened at around 5 p.m.
Police say driver, 27-year-old Tommy Kondovski, of North Syracuse, was headed northbound on Van Rensselaer, when he left the roadway and ended up crashing into an aluminum building being used as a auto detail shop.
Kondovski was taken to the hospital for a precautionary medical evaluation, according to police.
The building that was hit was occupied by two men – a 32-year-old and a 77-year-old – who were both detailing a vehicle at the time of the crash, police said. Both men suffered minor injuries in the crash after the car they were working on pushed into them. They too, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Kondovski has been charged with misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs, as well as a moving violation.
