Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Syracuse man is facing a felony DWI charge after crashing a vehicle into a utility pole on Erie Boulevard Tuesday night.

Witnesses say the Subaru was traveling east when it veered left and right and into a bowling alley parking lot entrance where it struck the pole.

27-year-old Narcissi Rutagarama was taken to Upstate University Hospital.

Police do not believe his injuries are life threatening.

Rutagarama was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, reckless operation, and failure to maintain lane.

Police say he will appear in Syracuse City Traffic Court at a later date.
